The San Diego State University Performing Arts Troupe
The San Diego State University Performing Arts Troupe is a collaboration between the San Diego State University School of Music and Dance, The Salvation Army Kroc Center and Arts for Learning San Diego. This collaboration results in a 45-minute original and interactive performance crated by Music Education majors, music credentialed students and new music teachers. This program is under the direction of master theater teaching artist Jerry Hager and Dr. Nan McDonald, Coordinator of Music Education at San Diego State University. The SDSU Performance Arts Troupe presents a literacy themed performance based on a selected children’s book. Performances are filled with music, humor and delightful audience interaction. The SDSU Performing Arts Troupe is a model of collaboration between university and community/school arts providers.
